Celebration of Black Arts: Rico Nasty Concert Fundraiser
Morgan spearheaded the inaugural Association of Black Harvard Women (ABHW) Celebration of the Arts, a concert fundraiser headlining renowned rapper Rico Nasty, at a venue with over 500 attendees. This event raised over $5,000 for the Alberta V. Scott Leadership Academy, a high school mentoring program empowering young Black women in Boston. Morgan envisioned both an intimate panel discussion with the performing artist, and a high-energy live-concert– all in efforts to celebrate the vibrancy of Black artistry and raise funds for a great cause.
From the very beginning, Morgan pitched and secured a partnership between ABHW and Femme it Forward of Live Nation Urban, fostering a lasting relationship for the recurring event series. She also managed and negotiated venue logistics, artist contracts, and day-of itinerary.
Morgan also designed and moderated an intimate one-on-one discussion with the performer for Harvard students, fostering pre-concert excitement and, as covered by The Crimson, involved a “variety of topics such as Rico Nasty’s artistic inspirations, son, target audience, and unconventional style.”
